Diamond Grades and Cuts
When buying diamonds it is important to understand the diamond grading sytems used by jewelers and by the laboratories that perform grading and provide Diamond Grade Certificates
Diamond grading covers many aspects of a diamond's qualities, but there are four elements which are critical to understand: cut, clarity, color, and carat weight. There can be additional ratings and measurements on a diamond certificate, but they generally fall under one of the Four Cs. For example, measurements such as "depth" and "table" are part of the description of the diamond's cut.
