Bloodstone
Bloodstone is the mineral known as Heliotrope, a form of chalcedony. Classic bloodstone is green with inclusions of red iron oxide or red jasper. The red inclusions are said to resemble spots of blood, hence the name. The primary source of bloodstone is India.
Durable and easy to care for, Bloodstone has a hardness of 7 and enviable toughness even when carved in intricate designs. Clean with mild dish soap and let dry.
